Curious About Me?

(Insert British accent here) Hello and welcome, fellow Downton Abbey fans!

One of the best parts of having a favorite anything is talking about it with fellow enthusiasts. That’s my goal with this blog: To share gossip, insights, likes and dislikes with fellow Downton Abbey fans, and in turn, having a chance to connect via other great Downton-related blogs.

My name is Erin Tharp and although I live in Southern California, which means I’m a Yankee, in my heart I’m a Brit. Especially since I’ve started watching Downton Abbey.

I had seen the show on my TV’s guide, but had no interest in anything on PBS—home to nature specials that make your eyes glaze over and Sesame Street. Happily, where Downton is concerned, I couldn’t have been more wrong. It’s like a juicy soap opera where all the characters sound like Julie Andrews or Simon Cowell, which makes it classier and okay. And like any good soap opera, you have infidelity, crime, and characters you love to love, as well as others you love to hate. That means you, Thomas.

I first started blogging as a way to connect with people who are disabled, as I myself am severely disabled. I thought it would be a place vent my frustrations and connect with individuals in the same situation, but the only people who read that blog were family members. My mom, also a blogger, suggested I try to reach a larger audience, and “I Heart Downton Abbey” was born. That said, I’ll try my best to post once or twice a week, but if you don’t see anything new for a while please forgive me. Or better yet, just click on the “Follow” button on my main page and you’ll receive emails about new posts.
